Lutherans For Life (LFL) started as a vision of a handful of Lutheran leaders in 1976 and officially launched in April of 1979.

Since these humble beginnings, LFL has educated individuals and congregations on life issues with a Gospel perspective, equipping Lutherans and their neighbors to be Gospel-motivated voices For Life.

Volunteer Relations is a Lutherans For Life ministry team dedicated to starting and maintaining a strong, healthy, and vibrant life ministry within their congregations and communities. 

Life Teams are Gospel-motivated group of church members that apply the love of Christ to life issues within their church and community.

Life Advocates are members of a Lutheran church who work closely with the pastor to look for opportunities to equip their congregation to be Gospel-motivated voices For Life.

Life Chapters are volunteer organizations of pro-life Christians seeking to carry out the mission of Lutherans For Life:

Congregational House of Refuge

Become a beacon of light and proclaim your congregation as a safe place for pregnant mothers through the Congregational House of Refuge program! By signing up to become a congregational house of refuge, your church will equip members and their neighbors to prevent abortions, provide healing for those affected by previous abortions, and protect the unborn and the vulnerable. 

Word of Hope offers help, healing, and forgiveness for anyone who bears the burden of overwhelming guilt through our 24-hour hotline. This free service is available for men, women, and youth to receive Scripture-based spiritual care in addressing life issues such as surprise pregnancy, abortion recovery, suicide, and physician assisted suicide.

Ministry Statistics:

Average over 420 contacts a month via phone, text, email, video, and in person

18 adults and 19 youth received extended spiritual care so far in 2025

Y4Life is specifically focused on helping high school and college youth become Gospel-motivated voices For Life. Y4Life offers a variety of educational resources, service projects, and interactive, in-person opportunities that teach youth how to uphold the lives of others.

Ministry Statistics:

Y4Life hosts a conference in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with the National March for Life in January. In 2025, over 500 high school and college youth attended the conference.

Y4Life has interacted with more than 10,000 youth this year!

YAForLIFE seeks to equip young adults to be Gospel-motivated voices for LIFE. Through service, education, worship, and celebration, young adults are encouraged to become advocates for LIFE in their homes, churches, communities, and world!

Y4Life, Jr. is designed for youth in grades three through eight, the goal of Y4Life, Jr. is to help youth recognize their inherent value in Christ and equip them to be Gospel-motivated voices 4 Life.

Lil’ Lutherans 4 Life resources are designed to help parents and teachers of littles, especially children in preschool through second grade, uphold little lives.
